My family and I came to San Diego for a bit of business and pleasure. My car engine light came on. I just had my car routinely serviced a day prior in my home town. He told me he would look at it but he was very busy. I was given a ride to the local restaurants. Phillip called me knowing exactly what was wrong with my vehicle. I was then able to take a deep breath. He repaired the car in about two hours giving me a warranty. He explained to me what he did and reassured me that my vehicle was ready to get back on the road. I would definitely recommend him to everyone.

BEWARE of this repair shop. They just want your money. I took my smart car to them as they stated they specialize in smart. I told phillip i need the top radiator hose replaced and that I bought part from dealer. Phillip quoted me 350 for labor and states he will have his mechanic check it out for a fee to make sure it's the hose. Few hours later they call me and states its going to cost 1100.00 just for labor and that they found a metal hose broken. It wasnt metal it's hard plastic just like the replacement part I bought. Philip had no clue what the hose name. Phillip also said the hose I bought is wrong part. I ended up taking my car to autohaven but still had to pay pacific highway 60 dollars for them to look at it and tell me wrong info. Rafael at Autohaven quoted me 379.00 with labor and parts. They fixed it in 3 to 4 hours and for the same price they quoted me. I saved over 700 dollars by not going with Pacific highway. Pacific highway wanted to tear my car down and even talking to me about better to just buy an engine. I tried speaking to the owner of the pacific highway shop but he no where to be found. Go to Autoheaven instead very pleased with their work and very honest people compare to Pacific highway auto repair. Paid 379 with autohaven and not 1100.00 if I stayed with pacific highway. They will try to act like they know what their talking about to get you in and then take your money. What a waste of 60 dollars for wrong information. BEWARE DONT GO HERE...

Justin, Thank you for your feedback. Allow me to address your concerns. When comparing repair estimates I would need to see what the other shops repair involved. The estimate we provided you included replacement of a specific water pipe that starts at the water pump in the rear engine compartment and continues out of view toward the front of the car. The proximity of the hose to the alternator and the tight space requires a motor mount to be removed as well as the alternator and the air conditioning compressor. It's also necessary to replace the coolant and bleed the cooling system after completion of this repair. Done properly this is a labor intensive job. Philip wanted you to know it was possible this would not fix the problem if the car had been overheated as this is a known issue with this vehicle. He wanted you to know ahead that was a possibility before proceeding. It is our job to recommend and inform you of your options. It is absolutely your right to have your vehicle repaired wherever you choose. We stand behind our work with a 2 year / 24,000 mile warranty on most repairs but this does not apply when the customer supplies the parts. Philip discounted the labor time our technician spent diagnosing the vehicle by half as a courtesy to you. I am truly sorry you felt this was not in your best interest.

I have a 2013 Mini Cooper and typically get it serviced at the dealership due to the warranty that I have, that is only covered there. But when the Mini dealership came back with some pretty pricey "recommended fixes", I asked a friend who also had a Mini where she goes for hers, so I could get a second opinion. She highly recommended this place, so I gave it a try. I was very happy with the service they gave me and if I wasn't moving away, I would continue to use them.
